Whole Group Strategy Sessions

 This unique whole class resource carefully links to specific Big Cat texts to help strengthen students’ comprehension skills. Developed by Australian, Noel Ridge,Big Cat Whole Group Strategy provide resources for teaching the key comprehension strategies.

Each level kit includes a folder for each strategy. Each strategy folder includes 3 exemplar lessons (mostly two instructional read alouds and one shared reading) that serve as model lessons for teachers to introduce the strategies.

The Instructional Read Aloud lessons use books from the Big Cat series, which are included in the pack.

The Shared Reading lessons use excerpts from texts within the Big Cat series, between 1 - 4 pages.  The texts for Shared Reading are included in two formats:

1. Overhead Transparencies

2. Whole Group Interactive Texts CD-ROM (for use with a computer, LCD projector and interactive whiteboard.
