Lioncrest was established in 1991, founded by Terry and Carol Hughes. Terry has always worked in the area of publishing and specialised in children’s education. He was born in Auckland, New Zealand and established Ashtons Scholastic in New Zealand and then set up Scholastic in Australia where he worked for 20 years before transferring to Scholastic, New York. Carol has worked in the areas of publishing and marketing in Australia and ran her own Public Relations, TV Production and Marketing company, Lineup, for 15 years.

Lioncrest Education’s home is now on Carol & Terry’s vineyard in the beautiful Hunter Valley. They combine the love of literacy with the interesting challenge of growing grapes.

Today, Lioncrest is a leading provider of learning materials for the Primary and Secondary education markets of Australia and New Zealand. The business continues to grow with a product selection that now includes thousands of items and more added every year.
